Really, folks. It isn't. It's more to say I'm alive, and that I actually intend to continue conversing with people on my last post - I'm not ignoring anyone, I just haven't had the intellectual vigor to follow up with a couple of folks.

Heh ... well I was going to refer to pond scum, but that serves to feed ducks and such-like, so pond scum is too nice a term to waste on the RNC.

I've only been able to handle the bits of the RNC that've been shown on The Daily Show. And even then- I'm still going 'omgwhyyyyyyy'.

The party now has the most conservative platform it's had since Goldwater, and with a good deal less honor than that bat-shit crazy but essentially honorable man had. It's like a slow motion train derailment - that people are, for some reason, clamoring to join.

I fear for the Republic. No. Really.

Thanks for the hugs. And thanks for the good wishes to Alex. We're keeping an eye on him. He's thrown up again, but it may be that it takes a little while to get rid of all the lactic poisoning. I really hope it's that. If he doesn't stop, we'll take him to the vet and hope it's something we can fix; he doesn't like throwing up, so even if it's something relatively minor, I'd like to end it.

Alex seems to be doing well today, and my aching foot is no longer aching so much, so on the whole, I think I'm doing pretty well. Thanks for the good wishes!
