After not riding a bike for a year, I have had the pleasure of going on several rides since I had my bike worked on last week. I had it tuned up, got a new chain and cassette, and had the wrench throw slicks on it, so that I have an MTB doing its best to pass as a road bike. I'll do my best. I didn't do it with the first one, but from now on I'll start the entries with the weird stuff that happened and then move on to the dry details of where I went, how long, blah blah.

I'll try not to get hit, but unfortunately the power lies in the hands of those death-gripping their steering wheels or talking on their cell phones while absent-mindedly guiding their vehicles between the white and yellow lines. The faith I place in strangers...

Mmmm. Bug juice. Count me in.

I was so busy this summer I didn't get my MA bike out this year (it's a pain in the ass at the new place), but my crappy PA bike has been primary intra-city transportation most of the summer.
