I used to set my camera/software to delete the pictures as they downloaded to the computer. After losing some, I don't do that anymore. I don't delete them from the card until I absolutely have to (like I need to use the card again for another shoot) and I make sure the photos are on my computer and on CD before I do.

Obviously I need to start doing that, too. The weird thing is, I have no memory of deleting the photos--there were about 8, it would be hard to do on accident--and I know they weren't in the recycle bin before I cleared it out, because I checked. I think the software I was using to categorize them ate them instead. Probably because I had pictures of my son's cake. To be fair, it was very tasty.
