Now that the authors are revealed, I can claim my story! I wrote Bearing Witness for the spn_summergen exchange. It's Sam, Dean, and the totally ripped-off story of a really and for truly haunted house. Please to be reading and, if you want, commenting back here or via email ( Read more... )

Okay, your story is awesome. It reminds me of a story about a real life woman during the Civil War. She and her husband tortured slaves, and no one realized until the house caught fire and people entered for the first time. I remember reading about it in a book of American ghost stories, because apparently the house there now is filled with odd sounds and weeping.

Thanks! I bet you're thinking about the same story I completely ripped offborrowed from for this plot. That house in New Orleans? I took a "haunted history" tour when I was there about 10-12 years ago and the guide told us the story of that house. It's creeped me out ever since, to the point where I actually got a little creeped out writing some points of the story.

Yes!I was thinking New Orleans, but wasn't sure if I was remembering it right. Excellent choice. Very creepy.
