My bigest fear as a little kid was of the woodpecker outside our house. I didn't know what it was at the time, and since found out. Peliated woodpeckers are mostly nocturnal, and the call they make sounds something like a piano being dropped on a dying cat. That call would send me running for somewhere safe in the house.
