GU comics recently had a comic touching on color blindness that made me do some reading. I've known I was slightly colorblind for several years, but didn't know much more than that

Interestingly, my dad is also partial-credit color blind, and it actually seems to make some things easier for him. For instance, he has painted some really fantastic botanical illustrations, and the colors are always dead on. Never really be able to explain that. He insists on referring to his favorite sweater as his "blue sweater" (it's unambiguously purple).

EG has a painting of a mystical horse of some sort that I thought had really short legs (and therefore looked dumb--and ugly). At some point, I got close to the painting and noticed it had normal length legs, but I couldn't see the black against a dark green background from any distance. Now that I know it's there, I don't think it's quite as ugly, but even knowing about it, I can't see the legs unless I get close to the painting.
At least I can see the green at stop lights. :) That's what I'd always read about and wondered what exactly they saw...
