Yeah, and I'm determined to see him on stage next time.

What really irks me is that this time around I had actual tickets to see the show. I planned a trip to England to see the show. I bloody went to the Novello theatre. I even asked my GP back in November to give me the anti-flu shot just on the offchance I caught the flu right before Christmas (and God knows I hate shots).

So I'm thinking okay, next time I'll get tickets, too, but until I'm sitting there in the theatre and he's standing on stage being wonderful, I won't believe it's actually happening.

I think what upsets me the most is that according to many (non-biased) reviews, he was breathtaking as Hamlet, and having seen the play, I can so imagine why he'd be amazing in that part. He probably would have had me on the verge of tears in several scenes, whereas Edward Bennett was great but... it was lacking that spark of magic that would've made it all out of this world.

I'll get over it. At some point. I really will.

But damnit!

oh hon I'm sorry, I didn't know about the extra seats either if it helps, or I'd have moved hell and earth to get one.

Yeah, so would I.

In fact, I'd have probably done something completely crazy like taking my car on Friday evening after work and driving all the way to London through the night, despite the snow, taking the chunnel, only to find out as I got there in the early morning that fifty people were already standing in line in front of the Novello and the RSC only had about 10 seats or so to sell.

So maybe it wasn't such a bad thing I didn't know about it then. ;)
