God. Where to start? I’m not even feeling coherent right now. Even the morning after having seen Turn Left, I’m still on a high. Or a low. I’m not quite sure. I spent so long thinking about what this episode would be like, what Rose’s return would be like, what the Doctor’s reaction would be to having Rose back, what would inevitably come in the

Yes. Just... yes.

This is one of the most powerful episodes of DW I've ever seen, and the Doctor was barely in it! I think they've finally figured out how to do Doctor-lite, and it's been done in a way that makes it essential to continuity, as opposed to previous years where you could skip the episode and miss nothing.

This was the Companions' Episode - all of them, not just Donna and Rose. Even though we didn't see them, it was Martha's and Sarah-Jane's and Jack's time to shine, to stand up and be the Doctor. It was Donna's showcase above all, but all of them mattered. All of them counted. And all of them were heroes. Brilliant. Just inspired.

And... Damn, I think I have to add this to my own commentary.

LOL. And I replied over there anyway, but I'll reiterate it here: I'm very grateful for RTD to have dared do a real, proper Doctorless episode, relying on the companion to be the real hero. That was brilliant, and Donna was the perfect choice for such an episode. :)

Good point about Donna. From what the Doctor mentions at the end, about it being very strange that they met twice in the wide universe, which was already very unlikely, like they seem to be binded to one another. So maybe there's something there.

I, too, was dreading Rose's return. Too much expectation meant I had every chance to be disappointed. So far I'm still squeeing because her return didn't dampen my enthusiasm, but I guess I won't breathe in relief until I see the very first scene between her and the Doctor.

Like, you, I think I trust RTD.
