Hey people! I'm back in the saddle again and trying to get back my bearings in real life. I showed up to work an hour later than usual because my alarm clock, I realized when I was about to leave, was still on California time. ^^; Whoops ( Read more... )

If it makes you feel better- my car and most of my clocks are still on CA time.

I don't know anything about that program, but I'd love to hear your take on it- whether you like it or not. Someday I'm going to have my own domain too, so your experiences sound most instructive. Good luck.

I have installed quite a few Wordpress sites in my time. And there actually is a WordPress for Dummies book, I think. Or maybe it's a Complete Idiot's Guide. I forget. I'll check when I get into the office tomorrow. :D ( ... )

Thanks for your writeup. I appreciate it. Sometimes you end up missing the simplest things... Turns out I had uploaded the WordPress folder into its own WordPress folder on my directory, so I had to delete all the files and re-upload them in my root folder..

The other confusion was that I couldn't figure out what to do after creating a database/user, that would make it interact with WordPress.. I eventually thought to open the config-sample.php file by chance and realized I had to edit the information inside to match my database stuff, then uploaded the new config.php file. And it worked!

Tomorrow I will return to figuring out the ComicPress part. But at least it's not completely blank anymore! Thanks!

Yay! :) I think if you can go through the installation process, WP is supposed to add that information for you, but you can also do it manually. (Been long enough since I started a WP install that I'm not 100% sure on that.)

Hmm, I'll have to check on the exact addon folder for you and see if I can't draft up some basic instructions. The other option if I get suckered into actually working today (hehehe) is to check your download of ComicPress for a readme file. That SHOULD have instructions on where to upload it and what to do after you've got it uploaded. (They don't always, but this one looks like a very well-maintained addon.)

lol! Luckily, my boss is gone all week, so there were no real repercussions. I stayed late to make up the time, though. Heh!!
