A drabble (Peter/James) and a ficlet (Rik/Vyvyan)

Thank you for my ficlet.
In hindsight, it is rather disturbing, isn't it? I found the thought of Rik sneaking his hand further under the covers and both him and Mike hitting on Vyv rather squicky and bizarre.

I loved Vyv's concept of 'ironing' (because I can so picture that actually happening in the show), lentil canapes (add the accent in your mind) and
it didn’t seem fair to make mice wear make-up without asking them first because it might get them bullied by the other mice or confuse them about their sexuality or something. I adore that concept. Can't explain it any better than that. Very wonderfully silly.

And Rik getting trashed over a shandy and saying that it was the worst hangover ever had ever by anyone (I can completely imagine Rik saying that as well).

I loved my ficlet because it just seemed so very Young Ones and the characters were perfectly themselves. But Rik/Vyv is squicky, I have decided. Decidedly shudder-inducing

I actually tried really hard to keep everyone in character and have them saying things they would say in the show, so thank you very much!

I didn't really find it all that squicky to write because I wasn't writing anything that was very different from things that had happened in actual episodes, it was all just silly really.

And yeah, with the Peter/James, I always think that if James ever did, it wouldn't be because he fancied Peter, so I had to do it that way!

It wasn't really the fic that was very squicky, it was just that despite my suggesting the pairing, I hadn't really considered the two of them together. I don't know why I found it so odd but I really did. Perhaps it's me that was odd while reading the ficlet.

You definitely achieved your desire with the characters. So Ben Elton!

And ever since the Pensieve, I have thought that James would probably have been very egotistical and any sort of gratification of his own trumped-up view of himself would be favourable to him.
That makes me sound like I think of him as an ass, but I don' really; I'm just being blunt.

God, yeah; I wouldn't want to actually imagine the two of them... you know. For a start they never wash and never go to the laundrette.

Yeah, that was definitely bastard-James as opposed to real-James, and he clearly did love himself quite a bit when he was younger.

It must have been one bad hangover. But then shandy can do that to a person.

The Peter/James was very well done, even though it still squicked me! Actually, James' power-trip probably squicked me more than Peter!

The Young Ones is sort of sacred. I mean, TV classics, right? It's like slashing Basil Fawlty and Manuel. *does NOT look hopeful*

I did read it, and enjoyed it a lot! But they did wake up in bed together. And I must admit to hoping a little bit that there'd be some more action between them, but that's just because I have a filthy mind. But the slashy intentions were there, weren't they? :D

My favourite thing ever in TYO was when Vyvyan turned out to be a medical student.

Hee, well I was supposed to be slashing them and was far too scared to write anything dirty! And I've had the bloody theme tune stuck in my head ever since.

I know! That's why I had to get that in there somewhere; I can see Vyv liking to remove bits of people's bodies, but not being so keen on putting them back!
