God, did you ever watch Sing Blue Silver the documentary? I watched that damn thing over and over and over again. I think I even bought it a few years ago on DVD for nostalgia. :P
Watched it over and over again, yes. And I had the video collection, complete with dirty ones on video disc, and my mom bought it and didn't ever find out it was chock full of boobies.
My best friend and I used to rent them (and rent a VCR) every weekend that we could have a sleepover. Except we had to do it at her house, because my parents would hang out with us and I didn't want them to know that there were boobies in the videos. :P
All of this. I was actually going to respond with something that would have equaled you in length if, perhaps, not in eloquence when I remembered I am working on a monster post to commemorate my LJ anniversary on Saturday. *meep*
I'm not usually one for remembering or marking these things, but I think it's time. For basically all the reasons you articulated so powerfully here.
So next week we get back on Tuesday, so maybe we should try for Thursday? You could come here and we could go to Caribou and talk and write? Or I could drive your way -- ooh or we could meet somewhere interesting in the middle?
I am a big obsessive, really ridiculous! Once I fall in love with something that's it. I don't think about anything else for months, be it TV or a film or a book, it becomes my life!
I, let's be honest, JUST HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS, OKAY? that. you. me. fans, the really devoted kind, that's what we are, do , be, have. feelings! hooray!. Why live if we were passionless?
I love to be in love. with real people, or fannish ones. in fact, the latter has its advantages.
;-)
we discover along the way who we are, how we work.

My July is looking pretty free. Especially Tuesdays and Thursdays for some reason. Or weekends...but those fill up faster, ya know?

It really is ridiculous, isn't it? A friend of mine is fascinated by the whole experience of it.

I agree completely. Passionless indeed. That would SO not work for me. :)
