I never know how to share bad news. It always makes me feel embarassed to do it myself because I don't want people to feel like they have to give me love or sympathy or make the appropriate noises and such. Bad news can often be such a personal thing; people deal with grief in different ways. But, I also want people to know, so in case I'm busy
