We're going to paint our living room soon, either this weekend or next. It's just a matter of narrowing down the color and moving all of the boxes and books and such out of the LR so we can wash, tape, and paint. Oh my ( Read more... )

But I'm also a big fan of (b), and because that room has no overhead light and limited windowage, I think a brighter color in there may do some work for you and not be actively offensive.

It actually has three windows -- it's not the downstairs one we were all in, it's the one on the main floor. :)

No, I know, but I remember thinking that room was dark. Of course, it WAS dark (as in, after midnight) when we were talking about it, so there is that. :)) I don't remember, though - is there a window on the end wall, or just along that long wall?

I voted for a, but I painted a small room, an old bedroom with limited light on our first floor that we now use as a den/toy sanctuary, a buttery color like b. It looked really bright in the can and my husband was skeptical, but it looks great on the walls.

I voted for A first, but then after the results I changed it to F, because I really like F and I think that A has the chance to get overwhelmed by the burgandy/cranberry elements. A darker wall, especially if you have all that natural light, might be a better bet. That said, I love strong wall colors (my flat is cobalt blue) so I just like more color than most people.

I picked B. It is bright, but not too bright I think. It looks like a nice cheerful color, and that it could be very complementary to other colors that might appear in furniture or the floor.

I said C because I think even something that seems pretty light can really make a difference when it's whole-room-wide, but I also like B. However, please tonote, this is the darkest monitor in the WORLD, so I might actually like B better. :D
