We're going to paint our living room soon, either this weekend or next. It's just a matter of narrowing down the color and moving all of the boxes and books and such out of the LR so we can wash, tape, and paint. Oh my.
And we need help picking our color. We're looking for something warm that will coordinate with a neutral, comfortable grey sofa and several burgundy/cranberry accents/furninture pieces. We want color that is there, but doesn't overwhelm the room, either. I've painted six different bits on the wall for choosing and we've narrowed it to two, but I won't tell you which.
these actually look a lot different in the photo because of the darkness and the flash. and the two we're really liking don't look as good in this photo. so... commentary!
a = goldfinch this is a dark yellow with definite hints of a warm brown in it -- terra cotta'ish, but without the redness
b = sweet butter this was really bright when I was painting. really bright. Um. really bright.
c = hawthorne yellow at night, this almost seems to fade into the white walls in the background. hmmm...
d = concord ivory funny how this was the *yellow one* until I went and bought the three on the left.
e = shelburne buff this we actually had in the old house and loved, but we don't have hardwood floors yet, so it might not have enough warmth around it to bring it in
f = acorn yellow might be a bit too remniscient of 'colors you might find in a diaper' for me to be able to paint it on the wall...
Poll be our decorator!! Wow, my icon has never been more appropriate.
Okay, time to shower. *
