Okay, dorrie6. Here is how it goes: I'd thought that for your birthday I'd write you a drabble inspired by the Mood Beans that you and jacito were doing. So, I wrote down a bunch of character names, a bunch of moods and drew one from each pile.

The result was: Neville. Hopeful. But this? Uh, ended up a little longer than a drabble. Also, unbeta'ed

Oh, my goodness, that's just lovely!! I love how you start in medias res, establishing Neville's character, and then slip in a hint about why the anagrams were important, and then *POW*:

She couldn't have been giving them to him for no reason.

My heart just stopped! Poor sweet, Neville! It's so sweet and hopeful and sad. If you could get all of this from two slips of paper (and a handful of bubble gum wrappers), then you're even more talented than I already knew you were!

Oh god, kaalee, this was absolutely beautiful.
Stunning and so sad and overhelming. You´re absolutely killing me with your Neville.
That he refuses to lose hope, refuses to admit it to himself, how desperate he is - and how totally believable. You have such a way with these characters and I admire how amazingly in character they always are, that JKR herself would not change a letter.
And, as always, I love all those little details you make there - the school bag, how he can´t make out what´s Hermione talking about, the showers, and, of course, the bedside tables. Omg, you rock.
I would quote - but then I would have to quote the whole thing. So, just saying - every each last line is perfect, a killer.
