Hey, You will find someone who lives near you, it is like 100x time better. Im in a long distance relationship with my girlfriend of 11 month, and I've been struggling to the fact that we are doing LDR. Everyday is just nearly killing me. She's upset because she handles it better than me. I cant seem to cope .. im pretty messed up so we're not doing so well. .. so yeah.. the best thing to do is to date someone who lives near u, its the best for sure.
When a relationship doesn't work out it's never one or the other's fault. Unless one is a total douchebag and cheats rampantly or is abusive or something. It just means you weren't quite right for each other.
All growing up I never had a "real" relationship, just long-distance internet ones. Now that I've had Troy, I don't think I could ever go back (if, heaven forbid, we ever broke up). I might get internet crushes or like someone long-distance, but when it came down to making it official or not... I think I'd have to turn it down.
It's different when you start the relationship locally and then you have to be separated for a long time, though. Like college relationships. I don't actually know the specifics of yours and Josh's relationship.
^by different I mean I think there should be more effort put into it. Like if Troy suddenly got a job in Duluth and moved there but I had to wait a month or two before joining him, or something. It'd be rough but I'd stick it out because waiting two months to be with him again is better than never being with him again. Anyone who already has a good relationship and then quits because of a short temporary distance is a wimp IMO.
Josh and I went to HS together, and have been good friends for a while. Over winter break we hung out daily. my family is moving ut of our home town, and while I'm willing to travel down to visit on weekends that I can afford to, that's about all the stability in seeing each other we'd have until we graduate.
my mum, who watched us interact the entire time, is shocked that he broke up with me. she says 'does he not realize how compatible you two are?' she felt the compatibility with my older brothers and their respective girlfriends- and theyre now married and engaged, so my mum's instincts are pretty good on the subject.
Then I'd say there's a good chance it actually has less to do with how much he likes you or how good of a couple you are. It's probably a combination of the distance and other factors in his life that you may not even be aware of. When Mikey broke things off with me I was dumbfounded because things had been going well, and then I heard from him directly and from some of our mutual friends that he really felt like a big ass and really screwed things up with me and regretted it. It didn't make me feel all that much better, and I'm still skeptical about it at times, if he was telling the truth or not, haha. But, whatever. If he hadn't stopped dating me then I wouldn't have started dating Troy. So you never know what'll happen. Keep your eyes open.
You are an amazing person. Don't ever think there is something "wrong" with you. It's not that. Its the things around you that can affect it. Josh... I believe cared for you. The one time I saw the two of you together was cute. I think the problem is the distance, and the chance that Josh has a way to go to graduate, and the fact that he has no car, no stability of income.... it's the other factors. I don't doubt there was feelings but it's everything else and the chance that he can't be there for you because of the distance...
But then again I don't know Josh inside and out so I cannot be certain...
But from what I precieve this is what I believe.
One thing I know I am right on though, is that there is absolutely nothing wrong with you. :)
