In the swim

In April 2015 I bought myself an annual swim membership at the pool next door to work. I swam almost every work-day the following 12 months, so I renewed it in April. It's a routine now. I see the same people every week, we smile and exchange pleasantries as we pass in the pool, we chat in the showers (it's communal), but I wouldn't recognise most ( Read more... )

I really need to take advantage of the special rate for council employees at the leisure centre. Considering that it's right across the road from my office window, I should swim every day. I'll check out the timetable and see what's on at lunchtimes. I'd prefer not to do mornings and the afternoons are full of swimming lessons until 6pm. Although, I could time it so I stay at work until 5.30 and then head over there to get in when the kids have come out (but the changing rooms are full of small people at that time!).

That's an impressive amount of swimming.

I quite like that sort of routine camaraderie, like you get on commuter trains. It tends to make things a wee bit more relaxed.
