i DEF need to go! i really like those pictures, especially the first yellow flowers all folded up. are they yellow poppies or something?
also, that tree....Cercis canadensis aka. Redbud i love this tree. apparently used to be native in canada...it's coming back, tho, due to escaping cultivation (ie. spreading from trees people have planted). i bought one for my parents. LOVE it! :)
Those are the state flower, California Poppies. (Although we usually refer to them as Golden Poppies here. :-p ) It's illegal to pick them on public land, so every year millions of them grown throughout the state. In fact, next Monday is the official 'Poppy Day!' (Yeah, we Californians can be really silly at times :-p )
Redbud! That was the name I could not remember! I kept thinking 'Dogwood? No...Dogbud? No...' I wonder where I was gettin 'dog' from...
Dogwood = Cornus Cornus and Cercis look/sound similar? :D both are lovely trees, but i prefer cercis due to how cool i think the flowers are just growing out of random spots along the branches.
