Dear Diary,
Okay, so it’s still Team Dong Junior-1, Super Bang - 1. No wins, or losses since there was no competition with last night’s activity.
Great.
Now, let’s talk about Yoochun.
We all prepared a community play which charged admission for our Dong Bang Fundraiser and let me just say, Yoochun was absolutely stunning. Leeteuk could not have picked a better part for Chunnie to play.
I mean, a tree? Ahhh. So majestic. I could watch Yoochun all dressed up in brown with fake leaves glued all over him alllll day. In fact, during the dress rehearsal, I got to glue those leaves myself. It got…really fun.
Hmmm…I don’t think all the adhesive for all those leaves were glue…
Anyway, I couldn’t help him out with his outfit for the actual production day. Yunho wouldn’t let me. He wouldn’t let me anywhere near Yoochun during the production at all. “Distractions,” my foot. He’s just picking favorites again. Donghae and Eunhyuk were supposed to be in charge of costumes, but we never saw them the entire time.
Even though Yunho’s been so cranky lately, he still picks favorites. About a week ago, it was Changmin. Why else would he let him eat the rice at the bottom of Yoona’s rice cooker? …I wanted it… Oh, well. At least Yoochun was nice enough to offer me the rest of his rice. We’re only allowed close contact at the dinner table while we stay with the kids. It’s nice staying with them til our apartment gets repaired, but…largely unsatisfying.
My “mystery” butt grabber has vanished. I’m sad.
But Yunho has been paying too much attention to Jaejoong this week. Letting him do his laundry, letting him pick which channel to watch on TV, (Changmin gave up the TV a while ago. He’s bored with it now. Aish.) giving him extra bottles of water.
And all through the rehearsals for the play, he kept critiquing Jaejoong’s acting. It was mostly constructive. Like,
“Stand angled more this way so the audience can see your perfectly symmetrical facial features.”
And
“Enunciate more. ENUNCIATE. We’ll have to practice alone together again during the break.”
And
“Try saying your line like this so the audience can feel your emotions. Your voice is so soothing and wonderful, so make the most of it.”
So much favoritism. I think it got in the way of his own acting. He’s the Friar guy for goodness sake. That character in Romeo and Juliet can make or break the play. At least that’s my opinion. I wonder if he’ll favor me next week when we end our Dong Bang Fundraiser with a music festival. That may give me a confidence boost. Go Team Super Bang!
Anyway, Yoochun.
Yoochun was such a great choice for the tree. Otherwise Romeo Heechul wouldn’t be able to hide from Juliet Jaejoong up on the balcony so well. So spread out and thorough and perfect. That’s my Chun.
Yunho…
He kind of critiqued Romeo Heechul’s acting, too. But a bit less constructive… More like,
“YAH! Heechul! What are you doing?!”
And
“Cut! Heechul, why are you standing there? Are you stupid? You’re standing right in front of Jaejoong. The light won’t be able to reflect off his sparkling eyes.”
And
“You’re ruining the play. Just get out.”
And
“Your hair is so stupid and long! Would the real Romeo’s hair look that stupid? No. No!”
And
“You’re walking like a girl. Even Jaejoong is walking manlier than you and he’s supposed to be Juliet. Learn from him. Great job, Jaejoong.”
And
“Stop fooling around with Jaejoong. He’s trying to focus on memorizing his lines.”
And (Yeah, he said a lot of stuff…)
“Quit touching Jaejoong! There is no touching in this scene. Leeteuk, do something.”
And
“Stop talking so fricking loud. You’re going to cover Jaejoong. You’re fine, Jae. Don’t change.”
And
“THE KISS SCENE IS NOT THAT LONG, HEECHUL!!!”
And
“Heechul…why are you Romeo? You obviously don’t fit the part. I mean…Romeo should be manly. Like me. Just give me your script to me so I can be Romeo with Jaejoong as Juliet. You’re doing a fantastic job, Jae.”
Actually, let me interrupt myself here. (Trust me. There were A LOT more comments…)
Leeteuk casted Heechul as Romeo.
…
ROMEO???
Does Heechul resonate anything NEAR what the character Romeo is supposed to?
No. NO.
WHY. No, it was not a question. It was a statement. WHY. You know why it is a statement and not a question, Diary? Because questions are supposed to have answers. And there is no proper, logical answer as to why Kim Heechul got cast as Romeo. I can see why Yunho saw so many things wrong with his portrayal of the character. Yep, yep.
So weird. And weren’t the directors Leeteuk, Changmin and Onew supposed to catch all that stuff Yunho commented on? Why was Yunho being so picky…and ignoring his own part? Yunho and his leader attitude…
And Changmin was just…sneaky. He was all pissy because he wanted to do Old Man in the Sea with him as the old man and Kibum as the fish instead of Romeo and Juliet.
Of course, it was a lame idea. There’d only be two characters in the entire play-old man. And fish. And there would only be one scene-the sea.
Changmin just wanted to be able to brag to Chunnie that he had such a big part. So when everyone (I mean, EVERYONE) rejected (I mean, VIOLENTLY REJECTED) his idea, he wiggled his way into becoming a co-chief director with Onew. Leeteuk came up with their title. Nice.
Oh, wait, I have some more complaints about Leeteuk’s casting abilities.
Although Leeteuk was smart in casting Yoochun, what happened-just WHAT happened-when he casted me??
Mercutio??
Really?
Mercutio dies.
DIES.
I don’t want to take the part of a character, fully knowing as I read over my lines, my amount of entrances will suddenly decrease as the scenes wear on because….I DIED.
Yoochun’s part was perfect, though, because he could blend in with any scene:
The tree Tybalt Kyuhyun stood beside in that one scene.
The tree Nurse Yesung had to trip over when Mercutio makes fun of her.
The tree where Friar Yunho gets the herb thing that makes Juliet Jaejoong “die.”
The tree Lady Montegue Minho stands beside and…oh, he doesn’t really do anything in that scene. Minho has such presence, though. It’s like he glows…like a flame has engulfed his greatness and shines in a fiery awesome blaze of…
Okay, done with that rant.
The tree Paris Kangin gives his first speech in front of. Kangin hides Tree Yoochun from the audience in this scene, but whatever. I could see Tree Yoochun from behind the curtains. Marvelous.
The tree Juliet Jaejoong and Romeo Heechul die next to. They’re supposed to be in a tomb place thing, right? Why is there a tree?? Strange stage direction on Leeteuk’s part. Ah, it’s probably because he had Changmin and Onew as assistant co-chief-directors. Such a jumble of different ideas from such different people… Maybe I should’ve volunteered for a non-acting activity in the play. Like stage crew. Then I wouldn’t have to DIE.
Ahhh…but I couldn’t talk to Yoochun throughout the entire play, though. Whenever I was backstage (which was A LOT after my character DIED) he was always out in the limelight, shedding rays of security and greatness on whoever was scripted to stand next to Tree Yoochun.
I was bored most of the time. Not even Eunhyuk was there to comfort me because he had disappeared somewhere with Donghae. What, did those two die somewhere together in some strange Karma Sutra position?? What happened to them?
Phantom EunHae… (I came up with that myself!)
Wait, where was Kibum the whole time? I mean, we were acting. Theater. Isn’t this the subject where he’s like….awesome?
Ah, that’s right. Leeteuk was bent on casting him as Juliet.
Juliet Kibum. Hmmm…
I heard him tell Changmin something about not wanting to act (as Juliet, no less) with a bunch of idiots. A bit rude, but…not too far off. Aish. Everyone but me and Yoochun are agreeably pretty unreasonable.
…
Darn it!
Yoochun is sitting on the opposite side of the couch. We’re watching Love Letter but we’re not really watching it.
This is torture. Will someone walk in? Will we be able to stand being so close to each other in silence without touching before we explode?
Aiiiiiiiiish.
I want the Dong Bang Fundraisers to die end so we can hurry up and move back upstairs so I can jump on Yoochun whenever I want.
…
He’s crossing his legs in that sexy way he does. And he knows it.
AHHHHHHH.
