Now, is the right just being stupid and not researching their work, or are they just setting themselves up for fail? Between this and the bureaucrat argument, it's like they left logic behind...

I kinda get the feeling that what remains of the conservative movement views logic as some sort of abomination unto The Lord.

That, or they recognize that they can not win a fair and reasonable debate, and have to resort to shrill histrionics and misinformation (neither of which are helped by logic) in order to have a chance at winning the support of their working-class base.
