Sleepy kitties!

Sleepy
kitties
. Sleepy kitties gave me an opportunity to take some
longer-exposure shots utilizing available ambient light. Here are some of
the better results.

(On a related note, if anyone wants to donate a nice macro lens to my
collection, I promise lots and lots of kitty closeups.)

She has beautiful eyes -- they're big and golden and they have a lovely texture and KITTY! I wish I could capture them a bit more sharply, but that's one of the hardest things to capture in slow exposures -- she tends to shift her eyes slightly when the shutter opens, creating motion blur.

And they know it too ^_^

Awww, a Sulpher-purr has come by specifically to endorse this comment. (I'm sure the bag of cheddar sour cream chips nearby has nothing to do with it.)

Same as it's been for a couple of years now: the 18-200mm uberzoom that pretty much lives on the camera when I travel, and the 50mm f/1.8. The 18-200 has been good enough for non-tripod work. The 50mm is nice and sharp, but a little awkward to work with at times for a DX camera.

I'd like to get a nice wide angle someday since the superzoom is weakest on the wide end -- when traveling this would likely be my backup lens. For the shots I've been taking lately I think macro takes precedence.

Lenses make for a cheap hobby.

It's been awhile since I spoiled myself, so I might treat myself to a macro lens for my next birthday. We'll see...
