Joe comes in when you call I.T. because you've opened a forwarded executable file from your sister in an email with the header "Smile, God Loves You" and locked up your machine with a nasty killer worm. She smiles politely when you tell her how impressed you are that a pretty little girl like her knows so much about computers.

Thinking about ol' Joe reminds me of the fact that I've often reflected how much simpler life would be if all I really cared about was beer and football... *sigh* But the reality, of course, is that very few people, no matter where they are on the political spectrum, have a life that's that simple! Real people are hopeless complex critters, and if you look at them as individuals, rather than as a "demographic," generally defy expectations. Working at Spoutwood has definitely taught me that!

That was a superb piece. So, imho, was crimmycat's response. But then, I'm a liberal conservative radical reactionary, soooo.... ;-)
