Wow... Just wow. I have to give it to them grouping everyone together like that and everyone having something to contribute without it turning into an unwieldy mess. Also props on them referring to practically every episode in the last 3 seasons.

I was thinking that the shot on his severed hand was longer than it needed to be. Also, it's that hand that started to glow first. (Which grew back as he was still full of energy after his regeneration into the current form.) Combined with the fact that's a bit out of phase with the rest of the universe, I'm thinking you're probably right about the Doctor staying in his current form...
