I think anyone who has met you wouldn't read to much into your last post. Whatever good Falwell might have done it was overshadowed by religious extremiist and intolerance he fostered.
Much like debate in this country, there'll be people on one side or the other with not many in-between.
IMHO, acknowledging that it is a good thing that a person is gone (never to be heard from again on the public stage), whether by death or discredit, or any other reason, does not implicate a person as either hateful or a hypocrite. Jerry Falwell is gone. This is a good thing. I never would have wished death on him, I don't know that I hated him at all as a person, but I did hate his message, and I'm hoping to God that message is about to die with him.
Dude, seriously. You do not need to justify or clarify yourself in your own journal. We all know you, and if we didn't, the rest of your posts speak well of you, and will speak for themselves.
Very, very well said. Jerry Falwell was a great American villain -- all the greater because he made his blasphemy so palatable to so many people. He was one of the most divisive figures in the modern history of our nation, and it's difficult not to feel relief that as horribly misused a voice as his has been silenced.
