So my digital cable's been stupid and flakey off and on since I got back from Tokyo. The new thing? My main cable box, the one with HD DVR that feeds my 50" plasma, just cuts out every 45 seconds or so. (in addition to the TV upstairs pixellating or otherwise losing half the digital channels I'm paying for

which dish service do you use?

We use Direct TV.. only time we get a problem is when its storming or if snow is covering the dish (thats when Rob sends me to climb onto the roof)

My mother had a similar problem, including the need to be gone by a certain time on certain days. They procrastinated for three weeks, until she finally called them up and said she had just called another big company (can't remember which) and asked them to install their service. She said the company that got there first would get to stay. They showed up the very next morning.
