We talked about this a while back, but MAN...still good the second time around.

It's just so heartbreaking to read those kinds of thought coming from a little kid. No one should be a cynic at that age.

Rachel and I have often discussed how deeply Riordan thought about precisely the situations he was putting these kids in (particularly Annabeth, Luke, and Thalia). Its sad, that's for true.

AND THANK YOU, I'M GLAD YOU ENJOYED!

Oh Thalia!

Loved the emotions that you played with here. She's such a strong character that actually doesn't get as much attention as she deserves in the fandom. Very nice snippet, but heartbreaking at the same time.

Thanks! I do really enjoy writing her. There's a lot of digging to be done, I think...

Very, very cute! I have a friend who's written the meeting of Evie (our version of Thalia's mother) and Zeus, and this was very, very good.

Thalia's had a hard life. It's no wonder she turned out the way she is. It's also no surprise that she was able to relate to Luke, more than Annabeth. She's grown up with a drunk mother after all.

Very well-written piece :) And very easy to relate to.

This was really good! Thalia is such a complex character! You wrote her really well!!
My favorite line was “Okay,” Thalia says, suddenly hopeful. She’s been here before, on the brink of a promise that’s just waiting to be broken, just like all the plans and promises that came before it, but it never matters. Just-awww. Makes my heart break.

I feel so bad for her, seriously. She's very emotionally independent, but you know there was a time when she still thought things could get better. I'm glad you enjoyed!

Succintly describes the relationship between her and her mother...oh, the paranoia, and something most can relate to in feeling.
