I think I need help

It's comforting to find my feelings put into words. Old article, I know, but I usually get to things after everyone else. Honestly, I was surprised all the books weren't out when I picked up LotF! I definitely waited for NJO to end before picking up Vector Prime, and that took years!

That being said, after I finish Biff, I'm thinking of rereading ( Read more... )

OMG, are you really even going to read the ones by Kevin J. Andeson??? Talk about taking one for the cause... ;)

I stopped being able to keep up with the SW novels years ago, although I'll read anything by Aaron Allston because he's a friend of mine, not that I'm a name-dropper or anything. It's just so hard to find time to read, and I'd rather write instead, so... yeah. Never finished NJO, and only read Aaron's LOTF books, athough I understand they're all very good, except maybe the last one, which most of my friends were disappointed with.

Zahn's Heir to the Empire tril is always good for a re-read, though. It's Star Wars the way Star Wars was meant to be. The original and the best of the EU, IMO. :)

What can I say? It's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it! I'm willing to take that bullet...

I actually have a big chunk of the reading cut out, because I stay far, far away from all the prequel novels. That takes out almost... half the books, I should think! Maybe one day I'll get off my high horse and waste ANOTHER two years of my life reading the other side of the timeline, but for now, I'm sticking with everything post-RotJ, just like I have for... well, my entire time in the fandom. I do have to say though, I totally LOVE all the books Allston wrote! I am envious of his characterization abilities. Fury is the reason I love Ben Skywalker, and do not even get me started on the x-wing novels! I'm so totally jealous. Is he as awesome as his books make him seem?

Oh, Heir to the Empire. The novels that started it all for me. Totally the best, and I'm pretty sure that's a FACT!

Some of them are quite good, actually. The Jude Watson young adult stuff about Obi-Wan, for example.

But, yeah. There's enough post-ROTJ to keep you busy for pretty much ever. But I don't think I could hack reading Crystal Star or the Jedi Academy trilogy again. ::shudder::

YES!!!! He really came to life in that book in particular. And, yeah, Aaron is awesome. One of my favorite people on the planet. If you ever go to a con where he's doing autographs or whatnot, definitely go see him. He's a great guy.
