I made a decent amount of progress at work today on my project of getting all of the children's collection in the computer catalog. My goodness, I never realized quite how many Black Stallion books there are though. I read so very very many of those Black Stallion books as a child. I don't know what percentage of them my school's library had, but they were one of the two most exciting series I could find in the elementary library. Forest fires! Amnesia! Horses fighting each other! Murder attempts out in the desert!

I now regret having missed these when I was a kid with a mild case of horse mania. I read some of Marguerite Henry's horse books, but never any of the Black Stallion series.
