By the time everyone's portal arrived on the 23rd, Sookie's house was resplendent in typical middle class Christmas joy. She'd baked several more batches of cookies since the prior day, there were garlands wrapping the banisters of her porch, and the tree in the living room was lit up brightly, making the packages below it sparkle a bit.
There were cots and sleeping bags in the three bedrooms -- Sookie's own small room, Jason's, and the master bedroom downstairs. Sookie, naturally, would be putting everyone in gender-appropriate rooms, because Christmas was a time of wholesomeness, and there would be no dirtiness, thank you. Also, she figured that if she couldn't fool around with her boyfriend, no one could.
And yes, Sookie herself had gotten some good news the day before, so she was in high spirits as she bustled around the kitchen as her guests arrived, and was even singing along with Bing Crosby. Which, really, was probably bad news for everyone else.
[I was totes going to code this, but omg so many comments and we're still playing them out. for the bon temps crew!]
