Well, it basically turns the situation from some person coming up to you on the street and being like "Do you have a minute for the environment?" or "Do you have a minute for gay rights?" etc. etc. and changes it to "Do you have a minute for me?" Even though I'm sure there are some people for whom this is not true, I do think that the money factor inherently changes the nature of the situation for most, regardless of their initial intentions.
This scenario has also never occurred to me, now these people are slightly different to me. Also, you shouldn't take the job. The hours are so lame and your whole summer will be one long moral head trip.
