I received my copy of Taylor Swift's 11th album "The Tortured Poets Department" yesterday afternoon (I actually pre-ordered two versions but the black one hasn't come yet) and obviously listened to it (I haven't listened to the 15 other tracks yet, just the standard CD). On first listen I like it a lot. There are a few stand out songs to me already ( Read more... )

The album is solid, but my favourite from the "main" tracks is probably 'The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived', although I think I like the "bonus" songs most overall since they feel a lot more 'folklore' and 'evermore' (which makes sense since they're most Aaron Dessner co-writes/productions).

I'm wondering if she'll just use these new songs to fill the two secret song slots a night since I believe she's almost out of original material, but I'd be very happy for a whole new section!

I haven't heard the all of the "bonus" songs yet so I can't comment. I thought I'd digest the first part of the album first and then dive in to the extras. Interesting that they sound more Folkmore-ey. Looking forward to hearing them now.

I thought about it a while ago and I think she could lose some of the Midnights tracks and maybe a couple from the Lover section then add some from TTPD and Debut but she might add them to the surprise section like you said. I guess we'll find out when the tour starts up again.
