Alphas cancelled by Syfy after 2nd season. I can't say I'm surprised but I'm gonna miss seeing Ryan Cartwright's brilliant performance as Gary.

On the subject of cancellations. "Drop Dead Diva" has also been cancelled after four seasons. Season four hasn't even aired over here. I wonder if it will be now?

tv: alphas, tv: drop dead diva

Ugh. Aaaand here come the doom and gloomers. Tried to get into Alphas but I found it was lacking that special charm Eureka (RIP) and Warehouse 13 had/have. Many are already speculating WH13 will be next with this season having twenty episodes as opposed to thirteen. I would like one more season if possible and from then on I'd be happy with an occasional TV movie if possible. God only knows if anything will come of that Warehouse 12 spin off with HG Wells.

Thank God Justified is back on; I needed someone just as cute as Pete to drool over er I mean watch till April.

I don't know how I'd feel about a HG spin off, unlike most of the fandom I'm not a big fan of her character so I don't know if a show all about her would hold my interest.

I'd be more interested in the Victorian steampunk aspect if anything. Also I did like her partner Wolcott, but yeah unlike the rest of the fandom I'm not gaga over HG myself TBQH. She's a smart and interesting character, but half of the fandom seems far too interested in seeing her boink Myka. *shakes head* Unfortunately many of them are downright obnoxious, some were even going as far to say that despite Pete having wished Myka pregnant and later telling her he loved her that it was in no way romantic. LOL This coming from the same bunch that believes every little thing that Myka does refers to how in love with HG she is.

If this spin off happens I guess it would depend on how it's done and what the focus is.

I don't really understand the Myka/HG shippers. People can ship who they want, of course, but I just don't see it myself. I'm surprised it's become such a big thing within the fandom.

I feel the same way about that part as well.

I think it could be partially to do with the fact that most of the shippers are bisexual/gay. Apparently it's alright if their ship became canon officially but if it was Pete/Myka instead? It would be considered heteronormative/heterosuperior. Of course I'm sure there are shippers who'd think otherwise, but that's the general reaction I seem to get from the more passionate side of this fandom. It's not that bad on LJ, but more so on tumblr. An ex friend of mine threatened to twitterbomb the writers after complaining about HG not being mentioned when it was only 2-3 episodes into the new season. O.o Said friend all but exploded at another friend of mine when she told her to chill out and that the season just started. At times it seems more like some fans view this as the HG Wells and Friends show if I didn't know better...

The pairing doesn't bother me, but rather the way some of the fandom chooses to act if you disagree with them over it.

That's interesting - I never really follow the WH13 fandom but I do know that Myka/HG is a big thing. I didn't realise why though.

I'm not against the pairing so it doesn't bother me either. I just don't really get it.
