Music Monday and More

I watched the Oscars last night and I was pleasantly surprised by the wins. I was so happy that a woman finally won Best Director and then her movie wins Best Picture. That was awesome. I was also happy to see Mo'nique win Best Supporting Actress. I still want to see Precious, and it looks like such an amazing movie, but at the same time, I was a ( Read more... )

One thing that sucked about going to the doctor's, was that I was unable to go to my actual appointment. My appointment is actually tomorrow, so the only thing they gave me was forms to fill out and I have to go back tomorrow for the actual appointment. It was a bit of hassle, and it didn't ease my worries any. But, at least I get to go tomorrow.

Oh I agree with you, and it's a lot of money to be putting on a show that's created just to pat Hollywood on the back. I agree that the money could be used for better things. The reason why I really watched (I really didn't have a huge desire to), was because of family. It's rare when we get to sit down and do something together. So, it provided a nice opportunity to do just that. So, I took it.

Thank you for the well-wishes. I will definitely need them.

My favorite thing about the Oscars was Christoph Waltz winning best supporting actor for his role in Inglourious Basterds. HE DESERVED IT. He's just wow in that movie. And the part where they showed George Clooney doing his pseudo-head bang to the Sherlock Holmes music = win. XDD Gotta love that hardcore harpsichord and the pizzicato violin, maaaan!! Why didn't that movie win best original score!?

Goddamn Avatar. It's the new Twilight. -___-

I've been meaning to watch Inglorious Basterds. I love Tarantino, and I think it was just great that it was nominated. So, I'll know to watch out for his performance then.

And I would have loved for Sherlock Holmes to win Best Score too. It was amazing and it really was a shame it didn't. I guess it was just another one of those puzzling moments of the evening.

Goddamn Avatar. It's the new Twilight

THIS! Honestly, I have not seen Avatar and I have no real desire to see it. The reason why, is that the story is cliched as fuck (it's pretty much Dances with Smurfs) and it's dressed up with CGI and that's all pretty much anyone is truly seeing. I think those facts alone kill any desire for me to watch it. I hate hype. I really do. And to make matters worse, I have a dear internet buddy who is both obsessed with Avatar and Twilight. As much as I adore her, I seriously question her taste and it gets so hard for me to put up with her obsessions at the moment. So, I think your comparison is spot on.
