This kind of story always gets to me. It's kind of a hard theme to write I think, because you have to preserve a little bit of hope- but you can't really have a "happy" ending or it's just not honest.
I love the balance you gave this. I love the idea that even at the end of the world- you can still fall in love. I love the idea that humanity doesn't give up until the bitter end.
This is just a lovely job - and of course now I'll always think of this when I hear that song /o\
