Political Billboards and cognitive dissonance

They are an easy target usually. Most people are also quite capable of seeing their meaning with the negative critical eye they deserve too.

One that made me uncomfortable was 'How would  you feel if your daughter was attacked by some bloke on early release?'. I did not have the time to give it as much thought as this livejournal user did though. I ( Read more... )

I saw somone deface the immigration poster by replacing the text with "Some of our friends are black" and thought it was quite funny but not very realistic. Politicians know better than to say such things. Then I heard the man himself say, in an electoral broadcast of all things, "I can't be racist because my grandparents died in the Holocaust".

I could barely speak.
