The cruise line was Royal Caribbean. Sailing on an Americas Cup boat was awesome...2500 square feet of mainsail, another 1500 feet of headsail, the owner said the bulb on the keel weighed 43,000 pounds and the boat draws 14.5 feet. The hull only weighed 6300lbs, everything carbon fibre, even the steering wheels and winch drums. What can I say.... Awesome!
Sounds like a bit of heaven for a sailor like you. When I lived in the Virgin Islands a bunch of friends would charter a boat often on Sundays. At first I tended to get a little motion sick, but I got used to it and enjoyed. There isn't much sailing in Indiana. LOL
I had no idea they weighted the keel with that much weight...interesting.
