Another Secluded Grove in the Preserve, Later Monday Night [NFB]

May 22, 2007 01:15

Word apparently doesn't travel fast enough in Fandom.

There seemed to be no one around to possibly hear anything that would go on. A perfect spot for a couple to... get better acquainted.

Shawn tugged on Summer's hand a little as he drew her out away
from the glow of light coming from the cabins. There was still a slight buzz
of conversation from the campfires they were looking to get away from.

"So much less crowded out here," he said quietly, smiling and turning so he
was walking backwards and could look at her. "Much, much nicer."

"I really agree," Summer replied, grinning. Once she was sure
they were alone, she leaned closer for a kiss.

That idea was one Shawn was more than happy to go with. He
gently pulled Summer in closer, slipping his hands down the length of her
back, pinning her against him with his palms as he kissed her.

"Can't see why you wouldn't," he murmured as he broke away for a brief
moment.

"Seriously. I mean, this is kind of perfect," Summer said,
glancing around. "I especially like the whole privacy aspect."

"No roommates, cabin mates or other assorted onlookers," Shawn
said. "Nothing." He smiled, leaning back in to kiss her again. Making the
most of the solitude they'd found out here was definitely high on his
agenda.

"No one around to hear us should we happen to make noise,"
Summer said somewhat mischievously before resuming the kissing.

No one?

Jason stalked closer, in cover of the trees.

Shawn wasn't paying much attention to anything but Summer. Why
would he, really? Kissing was far more interesting to him than the outside
possibility of potential lurky evil.

His hands wandered her sides, finally settling on Summer's hips as he pulled
her in closer against him.

Summer? Really not paying much attention either. Her complete
attention was on Shawn right now. Why would she care about anything else at
the moment?

Jason's steps were silent as he stalked closer. He hefted the
axe he'd found earlier in the woods. He took aim and swung hard, right at
Summer.

Quiet or not, a large person wielding an axe is quite hard to
miss, even when you're as distracted as Shawn. So much for being alone.

He broke away from the kiss when he first saw movement, then let out a
strangled yell when he realised exactly what that metallic glint was. Shawn
instinctively took a step backwards, pushing Summer to the side and
hopefully out of axe range. "Geez, what the hell?"

Summer was very annoyed that Shawn pushed her away and was
about to yell at him when she noticed the crazy masked psycho with a giant
weapon. "Holy crap...ginormous axe like thing!"

She remembered one of the first things she learned in The Doctor's class,
grabbing onto Shawn's hand. "Run!"

Jason reared back and swung again, this time much faster at
Summer.

Summer kept on running and did not look back. Unfortunately,
this particular spot in the preserve was not really proper for running in
the dark. She tripped over something. A tree branch maybe? She wasn't sure.

She knew she was on the ground, though, with an axe swinging in her
direction. All she could do was scream.

The only thing more satisfying than a good scream?

The meaty squelch as the axe thudded into Summer's flesh.

Shawn had been holding Summer's hand as they had been running.
When she had fallen his grasp on her had slipped and it had taken a moment
for him to realise, a moment too long, for him to turn back to help her up.

He yelled a panicked, "Summer!" But, in the end he couldn't do more than
watch the sickening impact of the axe in horror, too late to be able to do
anything to stop it.

Summer didn't even notice when the axe was removed from where
it had cut into her. There was blood and there was pain, but she couldn't
scream. She was too stunned. Had she really been axed, literally, by some
crazed psycho with poor fashion sense?

Really not how she intended to be taken out.

Shawn didn't even think of the axe wielding mad man. He saw
Summer, and the blood, a hell of a lot of it, and immediately skidded to his
knees on the rough ground beside her. With a wound like that, he really
didn't have time to think of anything else.

"Oh, god, Summer," he choked out, scrambling to put his shaking hands onto
her torso so he could try and heal her. Shawn's hands were slick with her
blood within a moment. "Come on, come on," he grunted. Panic wasn't doing
much for his ability to concentrate.

Jason headtilted, his axe still, for the moment.

"Shawn," Summer whispered tearfully. She really didn't want to
die, not this way.

She knew that the axe murderer was still there, though, and when she caught
sight of him just then, her eyes grew wide with terror.

Jason readied the axe again, and moved to kick Shawn in chest,
hoping to knock him over.

The kick connected firmly with the side of Shawn's ribcage,
almost knocking the wind out of him.

His hands slipped from Summer, and he only managed to avoid being knocked
over completely simply because automatically grabbed at the leg, clutching
desperately as he tried to pull some of the life from the being it was
attached to. He could really do with that working right about now.

Jason stopped for the moment, his axe falling as his body stood
there, seemingly frozen.

Shawn bit down hard on his lip as he tried to concentrate on
bringing this guy down.

He could feel that it was working. It was slow, though. Too slow.
Unfortunately, healing Summer with an axe still being wielded around was
simply too dangerous for both of them for him to give on it up just
yet.

Jason's axe clattered into the dirt as his hands went limp, and
his head rolled forward.

That was good enough for Shawn. He gasped as he broke the
connection, releasing his hold on the leg as soon as he saw the apparance of
a loss of energy.

Shawn planted his hands back firmly on Summer's chest. His arms shook
violently as he tried to heal the wound. The more serious the injury was,
the more time and effort it took. It was time he really couldn't spare at
this point, and he knew it.

Summer could feel herself being re-energized as Shawn healed
her. After a moment, she sat up, gasping to life.

Once she was sure the wound had healed, she clung to Shawn, relieved and
thankful. "Is he...gone?"

Shawn let out a sharp breath of relief once he realised his
healing had worked like it was supposed to. He held onto her tightly,
cradling Summer's head against his chest.

"We need get out of here," he said, voice rough, as he craned his head
around to try and see what had happened to Jason and his axe.

Jason's axe was still at Shawn's feet. Jason himself was now
standing over the two of them, his hands raised menacingly.

Summer spotted the axe and quickly reached for it. She held it,
hands shaking. Sure she was terrified, but at the moment, her desire to live
took over. She swung the axe, aiming it right at Jason's chest until it made
contact.

Part survival instinct. Part revenge.

With a crunch and a squelch, the axe buried into Jason's chest,
blackened blood and maggots pumping from the wound as he fell backwards,
perfectly still.

"Oh my god, ew," Summer said in disgust, looking away. Also,
she felt kind of sick. She'd never axed someone before.

Shawn grimaced, also rather disgusted just far too manly to
show it in quite the same way.

He swallowed hard and tugged gently on Summer's arm, unable to take his eyes
off the body in front of them. "We're going," he said firmly, finally
tearing his eyes away. "I don't--" He shook his head. "We're just getting
out of here."

Summer nodded. She wasn't arguing with that.

Barely waiting for Summer's nod of assent, Shawn put a
protective arm around her and hurriedly started to lead her away back
towards the campsite.

The quicker they got away from here, the better as far as he was
concerned.

Behind them, the body no longer lay on the path...

Ch-ch-ch Ha-haha

[OOC: Preplayed with the awesome snarkyprincess and sogothcally as the special guest. No interaction possible, but comments are love. That Summer and Shawn were out in the preserve together is okay for broadcast. Otherwise, NFB.

Warning for violence behind the cut.]
