I don't mind the new big bad at the end, but a big Dean and Cas scene instead of a Dean and Sam scene is pissing me off. I am not a fan of Cas and just the scenes with him and Hannah are making me tear my hair out. Why, just why, no Sam and Dean scene writers?
I don't think it's fitting for this episode under any circumstances, but I could have easily ignored it if there was a Dean and Sam scene. I have no problem with Cas, but like you I don't like Hannah and the current angel story line is boring (surprise, surprise). Giving Dean a scene with Cas instead of Sam? Unbelievable.
That pretty much sums up how I felt about it - except I wasn't angry, more just - huh. "Even Dean, guilty as hell, isn't shaken enough" - yep. The emotional content wasn't there for me at all, I wanted to be grabbed by the heart and squeezed and all I got was a kind of - oh that happened.
I'm trying to calm down a little and focus on the positive things about this episode because when it was good it was GOOD, I have my own fix-it scene in my mind which also helps, but straight after it was such an enormous disappointment. I feel exactly the same, I wanted the emotional scene, to gasp like I did with what demon!Dean said to Sam and get embarrassingly teary and emotional about it. Stupid writers.
