I don't mind the new big bad at the end, but a big Dean and Cas scene instead of a Dean and Sam scene is pissing me off. I am not a fan of Cas and just the scenes with him and Hannah are making me tear my hair out. Why, just why, no Sam and Dean scene writers?

I don't think it's fitting for this episode under any circumstances, but I could have easily ignored it if there was a Dean and Sam scene. I have no problem with Cas, but like you I don't like Hannah and the current angel story line is boring (surprise, surprise). Giving Dean a scene with Cas instead of Sam? Unbelievable.

Because these two writers are plonkers of the first order and understand NOTHING about the characters they are writing for.

That pretty much sums up how I felt about it - except I wasn't angry, more just - huh.
"Even Dean, guilty as hell, isn't shaken enough" - yep. The emotional content wasn't there for me at all, I wanted to be grabbed by the heart and squeezed and all I got was a kind of - oh that happened.

I'm trying to calm down a little and focus on the positive things about this episode because when it was good it was GOOD, I have my own fix-it scene in my mind which also helps, but straight after it was such an enormous disappointment. I feel exactly the same, I wanted the emotional scene, to gasp like I did with what demon!Dean said to Sam and get embarrassingly teary and emotional about it. Stupid writers.
