I only read the first paragraph so far but I had to cheer for Arthur supporting Spurs! 'Cause having all characters support ManU has been one of my biggest pet peeves since fandom was invented. And if Arthur is for Spurs that means that Merlin is one of the players so double WOOT! ::beams::

I actually have the Spurs to thank for my love of football. I set my TV to wake me up in the morning and I had it set to ESPN - because I'll normally go to the end of the Earth to stop from watching sports, nonetheless get up to turn the TV off. But it was a Spurs/Arsenal game and I just started watching... and fell in love! (With the team.) :) Now I follow the Spurs and the U.S. Men's National Team and I'm loving it!

Excellent start and I was pulled into the game and the great camaraderie between Arthur and his mates. On the heels of that phenomenal hat trick, Merlin getting beaten up by the opposing team's bigoted fans was even more terrible. It should have been one of the best nights of his life, but instead it was a nightmare.

The connection forged between Arthur and his injured crush was lovely. Too bad Merlin has completely forgotten it. It's making for an entertaining premise, though.

I loved this! Especially protective Arthur, and how Merlin latched onto him for comfort. I also liked the idea of Merlin as a clumsy, underestimated guy who suddenly amazes everyone when he hits his stride. And the end with Merlin joining Arthur's team, omggggggg. <3 <3
