I asked the other Sens fan on my list, and so I'll ask you too: what's your opinion on the Sharks/Sens/Hawks 3-way trade? Nice of Havlat to sabotage Muckler's attempts to trade him by saying he'd only sign a 1-year deal with any team, then promptly signing a 3/$18mil contract with Chicago.
I'd say Havlat maximised his earning power: can't believe they're going to pay him $6M a year. He most definitely screwed Muckler's options by declaring he'd only want a one-year deal--I keep wondering why we're acquiring talent from one of the worst teams in the league. That said, I don't know anything about this prospect (Barinka), but 1 point in 25 games with the Hawks doesn't impress me, even though it's a shit team like Chicago...why didn't we ask for Mark Bell? Prematurely, this strikes me as a throwaway deal, even with an unforeseen like a 2008 2nd round pick...
