Decided I liked it so much, I made a new userpic out of it! Shrunk and cropped to get it in the 100-pixel limit, whitened the dress a little more, greyed out everything but Alex and Justin, and then added the caption. Hope you like it!
I used Photoshop Elements, which is the cheap "simple" version. The one I have is also an older version (version 4), so I'm not sure how close the menus are to the current versions (or the full version). With those caveats, here's what I did:
- First, I tried using the "Auto Smart Fix" on the "Enhance" menu. That made the dress very white, but also changed the color of their skin to be too grey.
- So, I undid that, then created a new layer that was a duplicate of the original picture. I did "Auto Smart Fix" on that layer, then took the eraser tool, set it to a size about the width of Alex's arm, put it to 20%, and started erasing over Alex and Justin's skin and hair until I liked the skin color I had.
So... I didn't really do much of anything to the dress, just let the automated tool do it. I think the full Photoshop should have it as well, but I'm not sure what it'll be called there, or what menu it'll be on... hope that helps, though!
