So apparently there was a new Marvel Avengers animated series last fall? Which... not having TV, I didn't hear about until recently. But settiai said it was good, and the first half-season *insert eyeroll here* is out on DVD (with the rest coming in October or later, apparently), so. HYDRA (idk, is that an acronym?)

Despite the capital letters, nope. It actually references the hydra from mythology.

Agent Maria Hill (I don't know her, but she seems to be the equivalent of la Contessa Val de Fontaine in this 'verse?)

She was introduced in the comics back in 2005, and she's been becoming more and more prevalent since then. She played a huge role in Civil War and its aftermath, and for awhile ran SHIELD (and was then second-in-command under Tony, while he was in charge). She's currently leading the Avengers.

I knew that part ("Wash up a dish 1 Cut off a head and two more shall take its place!" *nods*), but I wasn't sure if they'd cooked up a meaning for it as well. Though I'm not sure what you could do with that "Y" (my go-to for things starting with Y is Ypsilanti, lol), and "HIDRA" would just sound stupid...

(On a comics-related tangent: any news on the J'onn story? I'm just curious...)

I have not actually watched or really been intrigued by the avengers, so this comment is slightly off topic, but I was wondering...

A-Where do you get your DS9 lj icons?

B- I'M UP TO THE DOMINION WARS SORT OF. just finished 3x21. I was excited and wanted to tell someone. So not really a question.... Other than, do you think Kira/Odo is as adorable as I do?

A: I got most of mine from tli_productions (TLI has iconed every episode, it's amazing) and chesari. And this one (my very favorite - from air_and_angels's Law & Order: UFP shared 'verse) is by jakeishB: Well, I'm in two minds about Kira/Odo. I really love platonic friendship storylines, so I was massively squeeful about their fantastic teamwork in the first couple seasons; I get grumpy about the middle-seasons stuff where Odo is not being blunt and straightforward and Kira is not being observant of his pining!face, for it makes them less than their awesome selves (IMO); but once they get together, although I am still grumpy at the writers for wrecking the platonic friendship thing, I have to squee at anything that makes Odo that adorably happy.
