Okay, I felt like chasing this meme round my flist a bit, so I have more questions to answer here. There's another batch coming, but I figured fifteen questions would make a fair-sized post. XD

LOL @ your last answer. Yeah, it IS rather implausible isn't it?? But! I have to say that together with the complete James Bond parody and Sisko's OTT character, it's wonderful :D
Then again, I did discover I am more tolerant in that respect! See, the origin of the question is that I'm watching SG1 with a friend, and she studied psychology, and we reached Legacy and we had to stop and skip it very early on cos the bad bad psychology was getting on her nerves. While I hear stuff like Jackson's "I can't translate it, I don't know what it sounds like!" and just go LOL.
I love your thoughts on DWJ! So glad you liked them, and even more so that you've got the secret thing about them - that even though she's a light and entertaining children's fantasy writer, she's so sharp and subversive underneath, and the books repay and stand up to a lot of rereading. But it's hard to explain that, because people will either see it or they won't. (Also, it's part of the reason why almost everyone has at least one book of hers they find uncomfortable.) But, yay, generally

um... three things which attract me to a fandom: 1. a specific character. I started watching Star Trek because of Bones, TNG because of Data, and DS9 because I wanted to follow O'Brien's and Worf's stories (also, Odo looked interesting)
2. an awesome concept. Such as Doctor Who: he has a ship that travels in time and space. How is everyone not watching this show??
3. good reviews. Like, people keep saying Babylon 5 is a good show, so I'm thinking about watching that one next...
haha scientific accuracy in your Star Trek? Wouldn't that be nice! If I fussed about all the biological inaccuracies, I'd have no time to enjoy the show...
