This one was a tussle. Whew! I wound up bringing in DEATH from the Discworld as an opposite number for my favorite cranky Southern doctor. (I'm not at all sure of his voice - Disc!fic is a thing I generally don't even try - but... *shrugs* Either it's good or it isn't.)

Awesome! McCoy would totally talk back to Death and fight to the very last second to save someone's life. I enjoyed this.

Aw, that's great - especially about blue being the colour of eternity. I don't really know TOS so well, but the sense of both characters comes across. (And you know Death would like him for it, too.)
