Fiona convinced him to come back to the island for the jacuzzi if nothing else.  Mostly she just wanted to get out of that stuffy little room where they kept stepping on each other all day.

She hasn't slept well since he got injured.  She's beginning to realise just how much she relies on him to wear her out so she can sleep.  She goes running ( Read more... )

Ramon's naturally an early riser. It's just that he's also usually up into the early hours with a few bottles of tequila and so his day starts a little later than everyone else's. But the alcohol isn't knocking him out properly because he's spending his time doing nothing, so he'd woken this morning when she got up and couldn't doze off again.

Coffee is always the answer, especially at this time of day. And he waits for her but she doesn't appear so in the end, he just goes looking.

It is a baeutiful sunrise. He holds out a mug to her.

'Morning.'

Her head turns at the sound of his voice. She's really just a few hundred yards from the house, but she didn't expect him to come looking for her.

Her hand reaches up to take the mug from him, touching his hand briefly and smiling up at him.

"Hi. I saved you a seat."

Her voice is quiet. The whole world is quiet here. It seems a shame to disturb it.

He says nothing as he sits next to her, close enough for their legs to be touching. His eyes remain fixed on the view as he has a drink and he's happy to stay quiet for a while. But, eventually;

'What's up? You haven't seemed very happy recently.'

Her knee rests against his thigh and her bare foot touches his. She tears her eyes away from the golden light dancing on the water to glance at him. She just looks at him for a long moment, her expression a touch wistful.

When she answers him, perhaps it's to state the obvious. She doesn't feel like diving into the fray this morning.

"It's been a hard few weeks."
