'I told you she shot me,' he points out, having taken just a minute to figure what she's talking about. He doesn't know why she's choosing to talk about it now, however.
"You told me she grazed you. That it was nothing, just a scratch." She goes back to stripping the sheets off the bed, and he can see the look of worry settling onto her features. "Bill's gonna get you your gun back. Think you can do me a favour and try not to kill him with it when he does? It'd make me look bad."
Maybe he doesn't care if Bill lives or dies, but maybe he'll care whether or not she's dragged through the mud because of it.
