The day has only begun and somehow it seems to be a rather nice one. This is heavily influenced, I suspect, by my discovery of a back-roads route from home to work that avoids 90% of the horrible evil traffic on 400 and the north end of 141 and cuts my commute time nearly in half. I am undertaking a large programming project, yet it is a whole new world for me being that I have not programed in over 20 years.
I will be designing primarily for the Mac, being that is what I am using currently, and my first concern is writring software to meet my needs, and not to sell to others.
In that respect, I will be programming in Cocoa, which is Apple's Objective-C language. My compiler will be Apple's Xcode and though I know it won't get me totally where I want to go, it will get me started. The compiler can also construct Java, Perl, and Python as well. (though I'm not sure if I am saying that right)
