Back from Frolicon

Had an absolute blast at frolicon this weekend. Hung out with old friends, and made a few new ones. Even enjoyed some new experiences. Hell, I even managed to get in a little reading. I won't even be trying for a full report on this one -- I learned the hard way with Pantheacon that I just can't keep up with that, and guilting myself over that fact is only ( Read more... )

Tsk, tsk, but at least a generalized high-points con report is always fun to write... if only to say 'Hey, shoulda been there, see?'

Nice meetin' you. ;)

Ah, there you are! I was wondering if you had an LJ, but I couldn't identify you in my freinds' flists. Good to meet you.

I don't really trust myself with event reports much anymore. I've tried them in the past, and they tend to turn stressful for reasons that I haven't yet precisely identified. So I'm declaring event reports to be the exception rather than the rule from here on out.

I had the same problem when I was determined to report every single thing. Since I started just writing up the parts I think are 1) most interesting or 2) most likely to inspire funny commentary from friends? I haven't had a problem.

Yeah, I try that sometimes. I just get overwhelmed with options easily. I mean, there are so many things that could make good posts from frolicon. If I tried highlights I'd really just end up with the whole damned weekend anyway. :-)

So instead I'm working on directing myself toward posting whatever happens to be on my mind at the particular moment I want to post. Like my mattress-guy post earlier: that was about a two hour conversation! (Yeah, I was there longer than I shoulda been.) I ended up taking about 15 minutes of babble and distilling it into that story, and that really wasn't the most interesting part of the chat. It was just on my mind for some reason as I came home. I'm going to give that strategy a try for a little while and see how it works.
