Goats probably aren't the first thing that pop into your head when someone mentions Aphrodite, but maybe they should be.

But first a little background. The Pantheacon schedule was posted recently. There's some flaky stuff, of course, but also some stuff that I'm really looking forward to. One presentation in particular caught my eye, titled "The

This is one of the reasons in my mind at least that the idea of Aphrodite and February seemed to stick beyond the whole Valentine's thing. February was of course associated with the Lupercalia, goat sacrifices and rituals of purification and renewal, all of which under the surface of things are very Aphrodite.

Oh, and I'm a dummy, incidentally. I did follow up on Thiasos Aphrodite Pelagia earlier. And I got a response. I just (re-)found it. They have a website and a Yahoo! Group.
