Adventure on the ride home

Jun 25, 2005 03:15

I'm too activated to sleep, so I decided to get up and post about the adventure on the ride home from Summit's tonight. See, I live up 400. Way up 400. So it was a bit of surprise and confusion for me and radiantbaby when they decided to close the ramp from 285E to 400N for construction. That's kind of... y'know... the way *home* and stuff. This is supposed to be the worst summer ever for construction on the hwys and in city.

Roswell Rd (Hwy 9) goes *way* up there. In fact, it goes through the middle of Cumming. There's a point in Cumming that Hwy 9 turns at a light. If you follow it left at that light then Hw9 9 will take you all the way up to Dahlonega and possibly beyond. If you go straight at the light, though, you'll be on Pilgrim Mill Rd. I live just off Pilgrim Mill, so if I were to take a left out of Summit's then I could literally drive straight almost all the way home. Unfortunately it would probably take over an hour and a half with all of the lights ( ... )

Even at it's best I never like Atlanta traffic. I lived near Brookhaven one year. Don't ever confuse Sunset Circle with Sunset Lane. Same dog came out and barked at me three times before I realized what was going on.

Heh. I think radiantbaby used to live in that area.

Atlanta traffic can get kinda nasty. I remember when I used to live in KS rush hour lasted about 10 minutes. It was horrible because it *doubled* the time it took to get some places. I mean, 15 minutes to get to The Mall (that was it's official name)? Unthinkable!
